Description
Crickhowell Castle consists of the remains of a tower built from random coursed rubble, featuring both round and rectangular shapes. The structure has a crenellated parapet and narrow openings, along with early 14th century ogee lancets that display worn cusping. There are various splayed openings on the inner faces of the three-storey tower and basement, as well as a fireplace located at the first floor level. An 1893 view shows the tower in a more complete state. Additionally, remnants of the former circular gate tower to the motte can be found on the northwest slope.
