Description
The bridge above the waterfall in Middleton Park is a Grade II listed structure featuring a single-span, high-segmental arch. It is constructed with axed masonry and has ashlar voussoirs along with other decorative elements. A small label moulding runs along the top edge of the arch. On the downstream side, strong buttresses rise to form the ends of the wing parapets. The central section above the arch has only a low parapet or kerb, indicating that railings were likely used in this area. There are pavement water chutes at intervals along the bridge, which is approximately 5 meters wide between the kerbs.
