Description
Pont Sancler is a road bridge featuring a single arch span, with each spandrel having a circular opening. The main arch and the circular openings are constructed with fine cut stone voussoirs. There is a projecting sill at carriageway level on both sides, situated below a renewed rubble stone parapet that has limestone coping. The bridge head terminals are marked by square piers topped with ridged grey limestone capstones. On the north side, the rubble stone abutments continue as stone walls flanking the roadway, while the roadway and embankment have been removed on the south side. The bridge has been reinforced with late 20th-century metal ties.
