Description
Cilgynydd is a farmhouse built from coursed squared rubble stone, rendered on the front, and features a slate eaves roof with cut stone end stacks. The building is two storeys tall and has an L-shaped plan, with a three-window front consisting of 12-pane sash windows, except for the ground floor left window which has been reglazed with a 4-pane sash. The central entrance has a panelled door with a traceried overlight above it. Remnants of a columned porch are visible, including two columns and a shallow cornice. The right end wall is rendered, while the left end and rear wing are constructed of coursed squared rubble stone. The end wall has a 12-pane sash window on each floor, and the two-window rear wing features three similar sashes and a 20th-century metal door to the right. The openings are adorned with tooled stone voussoirs and keystones. The end chimney has been removed, but the end wall includes a loft window and a 12-pane window with stone voussoirs. The rear of the outshut has a 12-pane window on each floor, with the lower one also featuring stone voussoirs. Additionally, there is a 12-pane stair-light to the left and a smaller 12-pane window on the ground floor to the right of centre. The side of the house facing the farmyard is bordered by a low squared stone garden wall with a low iron rail, featuring two gates with stone piers. The property has not been inspected.
