Description
Pont Henllan is an 18th-century rubble stone bridge that has undergone later restorations. It features three semi-circular headed arches, with the center arch being higher than the others. The arches are separated by cutwater buttresses that rise to parapet level, creating refuges, except for the northernmost arch on the downstream side, which has been truncated and capped in cement render at carriageway level. The bridge has a stone parapet wall that is coped and projects slightly to the south between the cutwaters over the central arch. On the southeast face of the northeast cutwater, there is a stone plaque that may have been re-set, engraved with "E D Z E. J D J T. I E J J. 1774". A continuous wall extends south to the roadway on both sides, featuring a replacement parapet made of snecked stone at the southeast corner. A similar wall continues to the northwest, following the road line, with a battered base at the northwest terminal.
