Description

49 King Street is a terrace house with a shop, paired with No 50 to the left. Both houses are built of brick with painted roughcast cladding, standing three storeys high and featuring two bays, with No 49 offset to the left. They have slate eaves roofs, a brick chimney on the right, and an eaves cornice adorned with paired modillions. The upper floors have small paned sash windows, although No 49 has been updated with 20th-century glazing, while No 50 retains its original 12-pane sashes. Both properties have 20th-century full-width shopfronts. The rear of No 49 includes a taller, one-window parallel rear range that has been added, featuring 20th-century windows across four floors. The ground floor has been completely altered, and the stair is now enclosed.
