Description
50 King Street is a terrace house with a shop, paired with No 49 to the right. Both houses are built of brick and have painted roughcast cladding. They are three stories tall and consist of two bays. The roofs are covered with slate and feature brick chimneys on the right side, along with an eaves cornice that has paired modillions. The upper floors have small paned sash windows, with No 49 having replaced them with 20th-century glazing, while No 50 retains its original 12-pane sashes. Both properties have full-width shopfronts from the 20th century. No 50 includes an attic dormer, a fluted rainwater head, and a plaque dedicated to Hannah White. The rear of No 50 has a close-eaved roof and a single-window range of 20th-century windows. The ground and first floors have all been altered.
