Description

This coach-house, comprising three units and a loft, was built facing west towards the former Vicarage. It is constructed of local limestone masonry in irregular, snecked courses, with dressings made of generally oolitic limestone. The roof is slate, with a red tile ridge and hips, and vent tiles at intervals. A dormer window is present over the right-hand unit, featuring boarded shutters to the sides, which are faced with yellow bricks.

The left unit, believed to have originally been a cowhouse, has a door and a barred window. The centre unit, a stable, has a door and two casement windows. The right unit contains a large opening, now fitted with a modern sliding door, serving as a garage. Flat arches define the door and window openings, and a lintel sits above the loft opening. The rear elevation has no openings.

In front of the right-hand unit is a brick hardstanding with a sunken surface and drain for vehicle washing.

The left unit retains three timber cow-stalls against the north gable wall. The centre unit contains two timber horse stalls against the east side wall. A ladder provides access to the loft in the right unit.
