Description
17 Spilman Street is a two-storey building with a cellar, built as one of a pair with No 18. It features an informal terrace design with painted stucco, a 20th-century stucco cornice, and a low parapet. The slate roof has a brick ridge stack on the left side. The front has a two-window range, with the ground floor having a raised plinth and a single basement vent. To the right, there is a five-panel door with an overlight, set in a doorcase with pilasters and brackets beneath a continuous dentil cornice that extends over a shop window made up of 24 panes. This shop window is flanked by similar pilasters with brackets, which only extend to the sill. On the first floor, there are two 16-pane hornless timber sash windows with stone sills and painted reveals. A cast iron downpipe is located on the left side. The building has not been inspected.
