Description
The War Memorial in Marros is a Grade II listed structure made of rock-faced limestone. It consists of two large upright stones and a lintel, all situated on a stone-paved platform that can be accessed by four curving stone steps from the north. The steps widen out on each side, and the sides of the platform are lined with rough-hewn stone blocks placed closely together, with the stones next to the steps increasing in height. The platform features taller stones at each of its four corners. Both the lintel and the uprights display bronze plaques inscribed with 'The Great War 1914-1918' along with the names of those who served and those who died.
