Description
11 Market Square is a house located in an informal terraced row, positioned slightly forward from No 9 and slightly back from No 13. The building features three bays plus an additional window bay on the right side of the ground floor. It has two storeys and an attic, topped with a steep slate gabled roof that includes a large rendered chimney on the right, shared with No 9.
The facade is made of painted stucco and has long and short quoins on both the left and right sides, along with a plinth. The first floor has narrow renewed 12-pane horned sash windows that align with the attic windows but are offset to the left of the entire facade. On the ground floor, there is a modern 6-pane fixed shop window on the left, with a door aligned above it. This door is paired with a renewed 19th-century style timber shopfront that includes a 6-pane shop window on the right, all set within a casing of four pilasters topped with a fascia and cornice. Another 12-pane horned sash window is located on the right side.
At the rear, there is a central projection with a catslide roof. The interior has been modernised, featuring two hewn beams in each of the front shops and one in the rear of the right shop, which has a chimney breast on the east wall but no fireplace.
