Description
Gollen House is a three-storey house located at the end of an informal terrace. It features a slate gabled eaves roof, with no chimney on the right side and a shared chimney with No 9 on the left. The facade is painted lined stucco, showcasing long and short quoins at both ends and a plinth. The upper floors have four-pane sash windows, while the ground floor on the right has a 2-pane sash window that aligns with those above. To the right of centre, there is a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight, and a large 2-pane sash window to the left, which is set further in than the windows above. The left end of the house, above the roof of No 9, is slate-hung, while the right-hand return is made of rubble stone and has no windows.
At the rear, there is a two-storey lean-to and a large three-storey wing that is roughcast with a roughcast end stack. There is also a lower two-storey wing with a red brick first floor on the north side and a roughcast end wall.
The arched doorway and door surrounds are similar to those found at No 9 Market Square and No 5 High Street, featuring horizontal fluting and rosettes.
