Description

2 Velindre is a house constructed of painted stucco or roughcast, which has been divided into three sections now known as Nos 1 to 3 Felindre. This two-storey building has a long, terrace-like range of nine bays, arranged in a 2-3-4 configuration: two bays for No 1, three bays for No 2, and four bays for No 3. The roof is covered with slate. No 1 features a wing with a canted end extending east from the rear north end. Each section has end chimneys, with yellow and black brick chimneys added in the late 19th century for No 1, and a red brick chimney from the 20th century for No 3.

On the first floor, there are nine 16-pane sash windows running along the length of the building, with three in No 2. The third window in No 2 is set considerably lower and is in a wider bay, indicating a division between the main house and No 3, which serves as the service range. The ground floor has floor-length 20-pane sash windows in the main rooms, with one window to the left of No 1 and two in the left two bays of No 2, which also has a door in the third bay that is not aligned with the window above, replacing a small sash window. No 2 includes a hipped-roofed parallel rear range.

Both the front and rear ranges feature six-panel doors. The front ground floor room has two arched recesses on the north wall that correspond to similar recesses in the south wall of No 1. There is no cornice, and the door has a simple architrave. The loft may contain an oak truss from the 18th century, with a collar cut to curve, set lower than the two trusses to the north, suggesting that an earlier building was rebuilt.
