Description
Britannia House is a two-storey house, likely built in the early 19th century, which underwent significant restoration in the late 20th century. It features a three-bay design with a slate gabled roof, complemented by red brick chimneys on both the left and right sides, and a small skylight on the right. The eaves have been altered in the 20th century. The facade is finished in painted stucco and includes slight keystones above the door and window openings. The house has hornless 12-pane sash windows throughout, all of which have been renewed.
Access is provided by slate steps leading up to a central six-panel door, which has also been renewed and features a plain rectangular overlight above it. The inner entrance was modified in the 20th century. The right-hand return of the building is blank but lined.
Both ground floor windows are fitted with shutters. The right-hand ground floor room includes a plaster cornice and a large plaster rose, while the left-hand ground floor room boasts a black marble fireplace and flanking arched niches.
