Description
The Former Foremen's Office is a single-storey building constructed in grey limestone ashlar, featuring a hipped slate roof and rendered brick stacks on the front roof slope and west end. It has a rectangular plan and includes a 16-pane sash window on the right side, followed by a recessed verandah that consists of three bays and one additional bay. This verandah is supported by thin cast-iron columns that carry wide depressed arch pieces with pierced spandrels, and it features an I-beam under the eaves. The three bays of the verandah are original, while the fourth bay is obscured by a 20th-century wing extending to the south, although it remains intact along with the east end return arch.
Inside the verandah, there is a painted stone rear wall with two 16-pane sash windows and a door to the right in the projecting west section. Another door is obscured within the 20th-century east addition. The west end wall has a paired window.
At the rear, there is a high walled yard made of squared limestone with stone coping, which includes added lean-tos. Gates are located on the east side.
