Description

Building Slip No 4 is an early 19th-century shipbuilding slip featuring limestone ashlar sides with granite copings and stone paving at the base. The low side walls have been later raised in concrete, which leaves two granite steps visible. The northeast angle is stepped up and curved. There is a 20th-century shipbuilding shed over the southern end, and the canted southern end walls have been altered to lengthen the slope. A large winch, dated 1908, is also present on the site.
