Description
Hilton Farmhouse is a small farmhouse dating from the 18th century or possibly the 17th century. It is constructed of whitewashed rendered stone with a slate roof and features a large stone chimney stack at the north end. There is also a brick chimney stack at the south end. The building has one-and-a-half storeys and a three-window range, which includes 6-pane sash windows that break the eaves above a central ledged door, with a 12-pane sash window to the left and an 8-pane sash window to the right. The windows have slate sills.
The north end chimney stack is made of rubble stone, with the east side battered in at first floor level and weather-coursing. The north side of the stack is flush with the north wall of the house to the right. There is a whitewashed rubble stone lean-to at the north end. An added rear wing extends to the northwest and has a brick chimney stack at the west end. There is no outshut.
Inside, the main fireplace has been infilled, and there are four beams in the ground floor north room. A 6-panel door leads to the stair in the rear wing.
