Description
This building, originally a mansion house for the White family, dates from the 16th or 17th century and is now used as a barn. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a corrugated iron roof with a stone stack at the southern end. The building was originally two storeys, but the internal floors have been removed.
At the southern end, there is a large chimney breast that is corbelled out on a stone slab over a rubble buttress, and there is a blocked upper window to the left. The eastern front has two blocked windows under the eaves to the left, one of which has a chamfered oak lintel, and one window to the right. The ground floor has broad barn doors with a timber lintel and one window to the right, which has a stone lintel. There are further ruined buildings that extend northwards from the northern end. The western side has two blocked upper windows and one small lower window.
Inside, the building retains holes for heavy floor beams and five pegged collar trusses, along with small fireplaces at each end.
