Description
The former National School Building, dating from 1861, is constructed from squared grey limestone and features a slate eaves roof, a coped shouldered northern gable, and a bellcote. This single-storey structure has a northern end that includes a three-light mullion and transom timber window with small-paned glazing, a chamfered reveal, a stone sill, and a moulded stone hoodmould. The bellcote is corbelled, with its sides stepped in and a single pointed bell opening. A slate date plaque is also present. The building has a raised plinth, and the western side features two three-light timber mullioned windows. The southern end includes a lean-to porch with a pointed door. The northern side has a chimney similar to that of the 1851 school at Rhoscrowther, with chamfered sides and a squared base and cap.
