Description

This is a late 18th-century terraced house, part of a group of three, and it forms a mirrored pair with the adjacent property at number 7. The exterior is faced with colourwashed stucco, scored to imitate ashlar masonry, and has a slate roof and a stone chimney stack on the left-hand side. The house is three stories high and has a two-window front. The top floor features a wide, shallow central opening containing a pair of six-pane sash windows. The first floor has two twelve-pane sash windows, and the ground floor has a large, triple-sash window with a 5-15-5 pane arrangement to the left of the centre, and a doorway to the right, which is paired with the doorway of number 7. There are three stone steps leading up to a six-panelled front door, with the top two panels being fielded, and a plain overlight above. A louvred chute, used for waste disposal, is visible beneath the ground floor window. The ground floor window and door openings have simple stucco surrounds.
