Description
This is a terraced house with a shopfront, dating from the 18th century, featuring colourwashed stucco cladding, a slate roof, and a stone rubble stack at the right end. The left stack is shared with No 7. It is the end house of a matching terrace of three, which includes Nos 5 and 7. The building is three stories tall and has a two-window range. The top floor has a wide, shallow central window opening that contains paired 6-pane sash windows. The first floor features two 12-pane sash windows.
The ground floor has been completely altered and now includes a large recessed 20th-century shopfront with a glazed door located in the right return of the shop window. There is also a 20th-century door leading to the accommodation, set further back. The shopfront is offset to the right and has a timber 20th-century surround with pilasters and shallow console brackets framing the fascia and supporting the cornice. The grouted cement roof from 1978 is no longer present.
