Description
The outbuildings on the east side of Farm Court at Penralltddu date from 1838 and later in the 19th century. They are constructed of rubble stone and feature slate roofs. The range on the left, built in 1838, has two doors with cut-stone voussoirs that have cambered heads; the voussoirs of the left door are made of Cilgerran slate, while the right door has sandstone voussoirs. There is one loop window between the doors. Above the left door is a diamond-shaped plaque that reads 'J Bowen Esq Built 1838'. To the left of this plaque, there is a projecting iron wheel intended for belt-driven machinery. The interior consists of a single space with tie-beam and collar trusses. There is a rear door with sandstone voussoirs and a 20th-century opening. The range on the right is stepped down the slope, featuring a lower roof, two loft openings under the eaves, and a central door with a cambered head and sandstone voussoirs, along with a stable door. There is one loop window on each side, and a lean-to structure is located at the southern end.
