Description
The former farmhouse at Penralltddu dates back to 1826 and was converted into an outbuilding after 1861. It incorporates datestones from an earlier building. The structure is made of rubble stone and features a slate roof, with no main chimneys and an outshut at the rear that has a brick stack at the north end. The two-storey front is offset to the left and has a three-window range with cambered heads and stone voussoirs. The central window on the first floor is blocked, the central window on the ground floor has been narrowed, and the left window on the first floor has been widened. Above the central ground floor window, there is a plaque that reads 'T Bowen Esq/J Bowen M D /J W /1826'. To the left is another plaque stating 'DW/JW 1803', and to the right, a plaque that says 'WWE/JW 1773'. Each end of the building has stone outside stairs leading to a loft door. The interior has been remodeled for use as an outbuilding, featuring a 19th-century loft floor, with no stairs and removed fireplaces. There is one fireplace with a timber lintel located in the outshut.
