Description

This early to mid-19th century building was originally Howell Williams Solicitor’s office and the County of Pembroke Sheriff’s Office. It is a three-storey, three-window building constructed with colourwashed plaster over a rubble core. The roof is of new slate, with plain, close eaves. A late stock brick stack is located on the right-hand side. The second floor has Victorian sash windows, while the first floor windows are similar but deeper. All windows have plain architraves and slate sills. The ground floor windows have very broad sashes and plain architraves with moulded, flat hoods. A central doorcase features plain pilasters and a moulded, flat hood supported by consoles. The doorway is round-arched with a segmental fanlight, and contains a modern door. The forecourt is defined by good quality geometric iron railings set on a stone base, incorporating a contemporary gate and gatepiers.
