Description
The National Westminster Bank is an early to mid-19th century, two-storey building featuring three windows. It has a colourwashed plaster exterior over rubble and a moderately pitched new slate roof with plain close eaves and no chimneys. The first floor showcases Victorian sash windows with plain architraves and slate sills. The ground floor has a three-window bank front on the left, adorned with channelled pilasters that have moulded capitals, a plain entablature, and a moulded cornice. The ground floor also includes plate glass windows and a doorway with a plain rectangular fanlight at the extreme left. To the extreme right, there is a modern carriage entry.
In front of the building, there are good geometric iron railings on a stone base surrounding the forecourt, complemented by contemporary gatepiers and a gate.
