Description
Hillgate is a farmhouse with outbuildings, built in a traditional style. The structure is made of whitewashed roughcast rubble stone and features grouted slate roofs on the house, which has rendered end stacks with dripstones. The outbuilding to the left has an asbestos sheet roof and a brick stack at the left end.
The house is single-storey and double-fronted, with a central door flanked by a sash window on each side. There is a large whitewashed rubble porch with a slate roof and a brick cambered head over the entry, along with small windows on each side wall. The rear of the house has a grouted slate roof and an outshut on the left half only.
To the left of the house is a cow shed, which has a broad entry on the right with a timber lintel, likely enlarged, and a 12-pane sash window on the left. There is also one door located on the rear wall. To the right of the house is a smaller outbuilding with a corrugated iron roof and one door at the front.
The interior of the property is not available for inspection.
