Description
The Coach-House at Abernant is a two-storey building dating from 1860, constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with a slate roof. The front features three loft windows, each boarded with 4-pane top-lights and decorated with painted stone voussoirs and keystones. Below these windows are two broad, depressed carriage arches, which are also adorned with cut-stone voussoirs and keystones. A plaque reading 'Ref T D 1860' is located below the central window. The southern end of the building has stone steps leading to a loft door, which is framed by stone voussoirs and a keystone. At the rear, there is a lean-to structure.
To the north end of the coach-house, a single-storey range extends northward, featuring a door with stone voussoirs. This range then returns eastward, with a roof that is hipped at the northwest angle.
