Description

6 Nun Street is a row of four houses built in the later 19th century using rubble stone. Originally, they had grouted slate roofs, but since 1981, all but No 12 have been replaced with imitation slate. The houses feature three stone chimneys and are two storeys high, with each house having two windows: 9-pane sashes on the upper floor and one 12-pane sash on the lower floor, along with a door. The windows have red brick cambered heads. The houses were constructed as two pairs, with a straight joint between Nos 8 and 10, and each pair has closely set doors and windows above. The doors have been modernized. No 12 has a ground floor sash that has been replaced by a modern tripartite 4-12-4-pane sash under a concrete lintel. The northwest corner features purple stone quoins.
