Description
2 Bridge Street is a terraced house that appears to be built in the same style as No 1. It features white-painted stucco and has a steep slate roof with a truncated remnant of a late 17th century or early 18th century panelled brick stack on the left end. There is also a truncated brick stack on the wall face between the attic windows. The house is two storeys high with an attic and has a double front. The central doorway is set on a plinth.
On the upper level, there are two 12-pane attic windows that break the eaves and have curved tops. The first floor has two sash windows; the left window is a 16-pane and is not quite aligned with the windows above and below, while the right window is a 12-pane with early 18th century thick glazing bars and a slightly higher sill. Between the first-floor windows, there is a wrought iron bracket that was formerly a lower support for a horizontal inn sign.
On the ground floor, there are two 4-pane sash windows and a central doorway featuring an early 19th century 6-panel door. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with an end stack on the ridge, as the range is continuous with a rear range of The Lifeboat Tavern on St Julian's Street. Although not available for inspection, it is said to have a 17th century staircase and stop-chamfered beams.
