Pont Gynon and Boundary Stone

Pont Gynon is a 19th-century single arch humped bridge made of rubble stone, spanning the river with a long, winding causeway approach from the north. The main arch features cut Cilgerran stone voussoirs and an arch ring. The bridge has rubble parapets topped with edge-on stone coping. The eastern parapet includes a 19th-century boundary stone marked "Eglwyswrw Boundary Meline Boundary," similar to those found at other nearby bridges such as Pont Brynberian, Pontyglasier, and Pontrhiwfelen, as well as locations north of Cross Inn and east of Trewilym. The northern abutment extends approximately 71 meters across the flood meadow, turning northwest and then northeast, and includes two low flood-water arches with Cilgerran stone voussoirs and keystones. The southern abutment runs for about 12 meters.
