Description
The vestry to Bethabara Baptist Chapel is a two-storey building constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and brick end stacks. It features a straight joint on the left side, indicating that an end bay was added later. The original section has two hornless 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, which have brick heads and slate sills. There are outside stone steps with a slate-coped parapet on the east end wall leading to a loft door, also with a brick head. The ground floor includes a central 20th-century window and a wide board door located to the right of the outside stairs on the east end wall.
To the left is a narrow addition that has a door on each floor immediately adjacent to the original building. This addition features brick jambs on the left side, and each floor has a 12-pane horned sash window set in red brick surrounds with cemented sills. The outside steps are made of rubble stone and red brick, with cemented treads and an iron rail across the left corner of the original front, which has a blocked first-floor door. The ground floor door is situated beneath the platform of the outside stairs.
At the rear of the original section, there is a central 12-pane sash window with a brick head and a 20th-century basement window. The rear of the addition features a horned 12-pane sash window in a brick surround, along with a red brick corner. Additionally, there is a red brick outhouse attached to the west end wall. The building has not been inspected.
