Description

History: Mid C19 road bridge over a tributary of the river Arth, one of three distinctive masonry bridges on B 4337 near Pontrhydsaeson, probably all designed by Thomas Penson or his son R. K. Penson.

Description: Squared rubble stone single-arched bridge with small round arch. Raised rectangular voussoirs to arch and raised keystone. Flat raised band under flat parapet with squared stone coping. The ends are curved out slightly to raised piers with band carried across.

Included as one of a distinctive group of masonry bridges of unusual quality in this region, including Pont Aberarth 1849, Pont Dyffryn 1847, Pont Glanbran, and Pont Pennant 1850.
