Description

This is an early 19th-century milestone located on the B4337 road between Aberystwyth and Lampeter. It is similar to another milestone on the Aberaeron to Aberystwyth road, which was established by a trust formed in 1770. The milestone is made of whitewashed stone and features a rounded head with the inscription: "ABERYSTWYTH 13 LAMPETER 11," where the letters of Aberystwyth follow the curve of the head. It is included for its special interest as a relic of earlier transport history.
