Description

Spring Hill is a pair of substantial houses built in the mid to late 19th century. They feature coursed rubble stone fronts, slate roofs, and stone ridge and end-wall stacks. The houses are two stories high with a loft, each having a three-window range of hornless 12-pane sash windows and central doors. The windows have cut stone voussoirs and slate sills, while the doors are six-panel designs with four fielded panels, panelled reveals, and timber pedimented doorcases. The open pediments are supported by carved brackets, and there are plain overlights above the doors. Both houses are elevated on a rubble stone terrace, which is higher at the northern end, and are enclosed by plain iron railings.

The northern end wall is roughcast and features two ground floor sash windows and one first floor sash window, all of which are 12-pane with horns. There is also a small loft light.
