Description

Early to mid C19 house in squared and banded brown stone with slate roof and stone end wall stacks. Two-storey, double fronted with 2 large 12-pane sashes above, cambered stone voussoirs and slate sills and centre door below flanked by canted bay windows. Applied slate plinth, slate paving in front and patterned white and grey cobbles to street edge. Canted bays are broad 4-16-4 pane with cornices, wide slate sills and rendered bases. Centre door and doorcase are of unusually fine quality: 6-panel door under plain fanlight, 4 fielded panels and 2 flush panels, similar panelling to reveals and panelled arch soffit; slate step. Elaborate rustic classical open pedimental porch on 2 thin columns with pilaster responds. Between capitals and pediment are ornately carved blocks with classical leaf motif below and flower or husk motif above. Pediment is open with modillion brackets within and fretted bargeboards to outer edges.
