Description
This is a red-painted cast-iron telephone call box, built in a square plan with two glazed sides and a matching glazed door. The door features a wooden frame that holds a cast-iron glazing panel. The glazing consists of eight horizontal panels, each with marginal glazing bars and a moulded cast-iron surround. The call box stands on a raised plinth and has a shallow Soaneian dome at the top, which includes four lunettes embossed with a George VI crown, positioned above three glazed panels with lettering, one of which has been renewed with different lettering. The back of the box is plain cast iron and includes an embossed maker's panel.
