Description
Pont Pennant is a road bridge built in 1850 over the River Arth, designed by R.K. Penson. It shares a distinctive character with the bridges created by his father, Thomas Penson, at Aberarth and Dyffryn Arth, which were constructed in 1849 and 1847, respectively.
The bridge is made of coursed rubble stone and features a single span. It has a broad low elliptical arch with rectangular voussoirs and a raised band above. The flat parapet is also made of rubble stone and has edge-on stone coping.
This bridge is noted for its high-quality design and has group value with Capel Pennant.
