Description

The gunpowder magazine at Llywernog Mine is a circular structure built from rubble stone. It features a low conical roof made of flat stones, topped with a circular stone. A distinctive row of projecting stones runs beneath the corbelled roof. The only entrance is located to the north; it is a full-height opening with a square head and a timber lintel.

Inside, the circular space has a roof that springs from a wall-head made of overhanging stones, with corbelling created by rings of flat stones.
