Description
Dolcarne is a house dating from the 18th century, constructed of painted rendered rubble stone with a slate roof. The roof has close eaves and two stone stacks, one at the left end and one on the ridge between the house and a service range. The main, double-fronted section of the house has two 4-pane horned sash windows on each floor, and a central front door. To the right is a service range with a door and two sash windows, one 2-pane over a 4-pane. The windows have painted slate sills. There is a rubble stone lean-to on the right end and a corrugated iron lean-to on the left. The left end and rear of the house are of painted rubble stone, with a small window in the rear wall. The interior features a central passage with boarding on both sides, and a staircase at one end. This building has group value from its contribution to the character of the surrounding area.
