Description
Brogynin Fawr is a house dating from the mid-18th century, constructed of coursed rubble stone with darker stone cornerstones. It has a slate roof with deep eaves, supported by brick end stacks on stone bases.
The north front is the most prominent, presenting a large, two-storey design with a five-window facade in a mid-Georgian style. It features twelve-pane sash windows with brick heads and stone keystones, with a central, larger Palladian window. The central window has radiating glazing bars to the arch-headed top sash, and small sidelights; it is topped by a brick head. Slate sills are present. A large, plain, square-headed opening in the centre originally held a door with sidelights and possibly a doorcase, although these are now missing. The gables at each end of the north front overhang significantly. The left end of the north front has a single window on each floor, set to the left.
A rear wing, of equal height, rises to three storeys. It has close eaves, a brick end stack on a stone base, and a three-storey, two-bay east front with small windows on the top floor, positioned just above the first-floor windows. Twentieth-century glazing has replaced the original sashes, though brick heads and slate sills remain. A twentieth-century two-storey, one-window addition has been built onto the left side.
The interior of the house has not been inspected.
