Description
Plas Gwyn is a house constructed from whitewashed rubble stone and topped with slate close-eaved roofs. It stands two storeys high and features renewed 12-pane sash windows throughout. The south front includes a projecting hipped section to the left, which has a sash window above a shallow canted bay with a configuration of 2-12-2 panes. The left side wall is marked by a square rubble stone chimney, while the short right return wall has a sash window above a half-glazed door.
To the right is a three-bay main range that has a brick chimney on the ridge to the left (noted as stone in an old photograph) and a massive stone end chimney to the right. The upper floor has shorter sashes (noted as 9-pane in an old photograph), and the ground floor features a sash window to the left, a 20th-century French window in the center (with a door that has lozenge tracery in the overlight as seen in an old photograph), and a shallow canted bay with a 2-12-2 pane configuration to the right. The right end wall is made of rubble and includes a 20th-century window on the ground floor to the right.
At the rear, there is an outshut that contains the kitchen. Attached to the rear of the left section is an altered two-storey range made of rubble stone, which has a 20th-century flat roof. This section features a half-glazed door in a 20th-century lean-to porch on the ground floor to the right, with a 4-pane 19th-century sash window above. The building is not available for inspection and is reported to have undergone significant alterations in the late 20th century.
