Description
Court Villa is a house constructed of coursed rubble stone, featuring a slate eaves roof and end chimneys. The left side has red brick, while the larger chimney on the right has been rebuilt in 20th-century brick. The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with the bays offset to the left. It has deep eaves and Gothic pointed openings adorned with stone voussoirs, although the ground floor is rendered over. The bays are arranged with two on the left and one on the right.
Notably, the house has delicate Gothic glazing of Y-tracery type with tiny panes. Each window has a pair of casements, with one half fixed; the upper windows feature tiny 9-pane casements, while the lower ones have 4-pane casements that replaced the original 12-pane casements. The heads of the windows have fixed tiny panes cut to fit the intersecting Gothic glazing bars, and slate sills are present. The front door, which is pointed and boarded, dates from the 20th century.
The left end of the house is windowless, while the rear includes an early 20th-century brick lean-to with a door and a small sash window above in the end wall, as well as two sash windows on the rear wall. The right end features a lean-to garage made of corrugated iron. The interior of the house is not available for inspection.
