Description

Glanhelyg is a small country house built between 1859 and 1860 for the Misses Webley-Parry of Treforgan. It is constructed from hollow red terracotta blocks and has an L-shaped layout. The exterior has been painted, and the house features a slate roof with two red brick axial ridge stacks—four shafts on the left and three on the right.

The front facade is two stories high with three windows and includes two projecting gables with bargeboards. At the base, there is a stone plinth with a chamfered step, while the walls are accented with raised rusticated quoins and similar rusticated surrounds for the first-floor windows. A raised string course runs along the building. The recessed central section has a pent slate hood over a half-glazed door, flanked by narrow windows on each side. Above, there is a narrow four-pane sash window that breaks the eaves under a small gable.

The gabled bays on either side feature a four-pane sash window on the first floor, with a canted bay window below on the left, topped with a slate hipped roof, and a square bay window on the right with a pent slate roof. A large gabled glazed porch has been added in front, resting on a painted plinth. The west end of the house has a ground floor canted bay and a pair of narrow sash windows on the first floor. The east side includes a gable on the right with a window above and two additional windows below. The rear features a central gable with a stairlight and various windows, along with a northeast service range.

Inside, there is a central passage leading to offset rear stairs, which are plain and painted.
