Description
The stable block located to the northwest of Pencraig is an early 19th-century structure built from roughcast stone, featuring a slate hipped roof and two ridge stacks. It is a single-storey building with a loft. The front range showcases a central pedimental gable adorned with a radiating-bar roundel and six pairs of dove holes. Atop the ridge sits a hexagonal timber bellcote, which has a roughcast base supported by slim turned columns, arched heads, and a leaded ogee dome topped with a fox weathervane. This bellcote is identical to one found at Glanarberth.
The ground floor's central section features a broad camber-headed entry with double ledged doors, slate impost blocks, and a keystone. To the right of this entrance are paired small 12-pane windows, a door, and an 8-pane square sash window. To the left, there is a ledged door with a renewed brick cambered head, a 9-pane window with a similar brick head, paired 9-pane windows, and another door. The roof is fitted with four roof-lights. The west end wall includes a low loading door beneath the eaves and a ground floor window.
At the rear, an added northeast range is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features a slate roof that is hipped at the south end. This section contains one broad opening with a cambered red-brick head, three doors with cut-stone voussoirs to cambered heads, and blocked vent loops positioned between the doors.
