Description
The stable block at Gisborough House, built in the mid-19th century, is constructed from chevron-dressed sandstone and features hipped Welsh slate roofs with stone ridge copings and six stone stacks. This two-storey structure surrounds an open courtyard on three sides, while the southern side is partly enclosed by a high screen wall and gatepiers. The central section includes a slightly projecting gabled coach house with rusticated quoins and two elliptical openings, topped with a clock in the gable. An octagonal timber bell cupola with a leaded ogee roof sits on the ridge of the coach house. The central block has five bays, while the west wing has six bays, all featuring sash windows with glazing bars and boarded doors. The east wing has been altered, and the rear (north) elevation includes three bulls-eye windows and an external stone staircase. The gatepiers are adorned with moulded bases, caps, and ball finials. A later extension on the west side of the west wing is not considered of interest.
