Description
The gatepiers and gates to the east of Stable Cottage at Glanarberth were built around 1865. They consist of two broad piers made of coursed rubble stone, topped with slate caps. The gates are made of iron and feature wrought-iron scrolled and twisted spearheads above the top rail, which ramps down to a meeting stile. There is a mid-height double rail with intersecting half-ovals between the rails, dog-bars below, and similar spearheads above. In front of the left pier, there are four slate steps leading up the bank. These gates provide access to the rear drive of the former Glanarberth mansion, which was demolished in 1986. The mansion itself was constructed in the early 1860s.
