Description
13 Market Street is a three-storey building featuring a simple classical design with two window frontages. The facades of Nos 11 and 13 are finished in scribed render, while Nos 9, 10, and 12 are roughcast. No 10 has end pilaster strips, and No 11 displays rusticated quoins. The roofs are slate with wide boarded eaves and there are four rubble chimney stacks.
The first and second floors have sash glazing, except for the second floor of No 12, which has fixed windows. Nos 9, 10, and 12 have 9 and 12-pane windows, while Nos 11 and 13 feature 4-pane windows. Nos 10 and 11 have lugged architraves with keystones, while Nos 9 and 12 have half architraves, and No 13 has no architraves.
No 9 has modern splayed bay windows, and the ground floor of No 10 has a 12-pane window. No 11 features a splayed bay with sash glazing, and No 12 has a similar bay but with glazing bars. No 13 has a modern window. The entrance to No 10 is a six-panel door with a fanlight, No 11 has a four-panel door with a fanlight, No 12 has a two-panel door with a fanlight, and No 13 features a boarded door with a fanlight. The entrance to the recently renovated No 9 is located on the roughcast Queen Street elevation and includes small pane modern sash windows.
