Description
11 Market Street is a terrace of three-storey buildings featuring two-window simple classical frontages. Nos 11 and 13 have a scribed render finish, while Nos 9, 10, and 12 are roughcast. No 10 has end pilaster strips, and No 11 features rusticated quoins. The buildings have slate roofs with wide boarded eaves and four rubble chimney stacks.
The first and second floors predominantly have sash glazing, except for the second floor of No 12, which has fixed windows. Nos 9, 10, and 12 have 9 and 12-pane windows, while Nos 11 and 13 have 4-pane windows. The lugged architraves with keystones are present on Nos 10 and 11, while Nos 9 and 12 have half architraves, and No 13 has no architraves.
No 9 features modern splayed bay windows, No 10 has a ground floor 12-pane window, No 11 has a splayed bay with sash glazing, and No 12 has a similar bay but with glazing bars. No 13 has a modern window. The doors include a six-panel door with a fanlight at No 10, a four-panel door with a fanlight at No 11, a two-panel door with a fanlight at No 12, and a boarded door with a fanlight at No 13. The entrance to the recently renovated No 9 is located on the roughcast Queen Street elevation and features small pane modern sash windows.
