Description
Aberceri is a two-storey building constructed in 1827, featuring a colour-washed stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof with stuccoed end stacks. The eaves are supported by paired brackets. The front of the building has three windows, with a 4-pane sash window in the center of the first floor, adorned with a later 19th-century cornice on console brackets. On either side of this central window are two-storey canted bays, each with a later 19th-century 2-4-2 pane configuration.
The entrance features an early 19th-century four-panel door topped by a radiating bar fanlight, set within a columned porch. This porch is flanked by two 20th-century cast Roman Doric columns that replicate the original timber columns, along with timber pilaster responds and a cornice. To the sides, there are lean-to two-storey wings, each with a single window and 12-pane sashes. To the right of the right wing is a two-storey hipped addition built around 1850-1860, which has a one-window front. Additionally, there is a single-storey outbuilding in an L-plan layout located beyond the main structure. The rear of the building features an arched stair light.
Inside, the building retains fine early 19th-century details, including 6-panel doors, simple cornices, and a central hall that leads to an open-well stair with turned balusters and newels. The first-floor landing also has 6-panel doors, and the door leading to the room in the west wing is heavily plated in iron, possibly added by Forde Hughes.
