Description
Felin Geri is a 19th-century building constructed from rubble stone with a slate roof, featuring two storeys and a loft. The front facade has two first-floor windows, which are offset to the right. These windows have stone voussoirs and keystones, with 20th-century glazing on the left and a 9-pane casement on the right. Above the left window is a plaque that reads "RB TLL Esqrs 1805." To the right on the ground floor, there is a door with a timber lintel.
On the left side of the building, there are two large overshot waterwheels positioned in parallel, made by S. F. Kelly of Bridgend Foundry, Cardigan. One waterwheel, said to be from 1872, is pitchback, while the other dates to the 1880s, both intended to operate a sawmill. The first floor and attic feature a 4-pane window, while the right end wall has a small attic window and a ground floor window. The rear of the building contains various blocked openings and two small first-floor windows. The sawmill itself is a large open shed with a corrugated-iron roof.
Inside, the building has oak main beams and joists, along with two oak collar trusses in the roof. It contains complete late 19th-century mill machinery, including a pit-wheel that turns a wallower on a line-shaft, which drives two spur-wheels that turn stone-nuts for two millstones on the first floor. Also on the first floor is a bolter for grading flour located at the right end, along with a loft that includes a sack hoist and hoppers.
